Salina Police have identified two suspects in the theft of more than $2,800 worth of merchandise from a local retail store.
Captain Mike Sweeney said thieves entered Lowe’s Home Improvement, 3035 S. 9th, between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. October 18th, and took several items from the store.
The items included four Husqvarna chainsaws, a Troy Built generator, a Generac generator, and a 5-gallon bucket of Valspar paint at a total value of $2,873.
Shortly after the theft occurred, the suspects were stopped by Kansas Highway Patrol troopers and arrested on unrelated charges in another county. All of the stolen property was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.
Sweeney said arrest warrants for both suspects are now being requested by Salina Police in connection with the theft.
Names of the two suspects have not been released.
