Saline County Undersheriff Roger Soldan said a deputy was northbound on old 81 north of Salina just before 2p.m. when he saw a blue 1987 Toyota pickup going south toward Salina. He noticed the license plate came back as a truck reported stolen.

Officers from the Salina Police Department, and troopers from the Kansas Highway Patrol became involved in the chase that covered several streets in north and central Salina before the pursuit was called off in the area of Crawford and 5th. Top speed in the pursuit was close to 100-mph.

The pickup was found in the 700 block of N. 3rd early Monday morning. Officials are still looking for a white male who was driving the stolen pickup.
