Bullet misses woman while she sleeps

shots firedSalina Police are investigating a case where a shot was fired into a home missing a woman while she slept.

Captain Mike Sweeney said the woman who is in her 80s, reported the incident on Monday, but believes the shot was fired into her home in the 2100 block of Roach on November 16th about 3:20a.m.

The woman woke to whatt sounded like a shot, but did not think anything about it until she was changing the bedding on Monday, when she discovered a bullet hole in the headboard of her bed, that also went through the mattress, eventually lodging in a bedroom door.

It appears the bullet went through two walls before entering the bedroom.

Sweeney did not say what the caliber of the bullet was.
