Eisenhower Presidential Library Hosts Abilene Municipal Band

eisenhower-library-and-museum-11-16ABILENE, Kan. – The public is invited to the annual holiday open house at the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home on Sunday, Dec. 4. The Abilene Municipal Band will perform a free concert at 2 p.m. in the Visitors Center Auditorium, followed by refreshments.

Guests are invited to come early to shop and take advantage of a 20% discount on all in-store purchases! New and exciting inventory has been added offering a variety of holiday gift options.

“This open house has become a holiday tradition for families and we look forward to it each year,” said Tim Rives, Acting Director. “It also offers a ‘last chance’ to view the World War II Remembered temporary exhibits before they end on December 31.”

These exhibits end a three-year commemoration marking WWII 70th anniversaries. Exhibits and programs are only made possible through private donations to the Eisenhower Foundation. The World War II Remembered exhibits and programming has a number of extremely generous sponsors including the Emma Balsiger Foundation, Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the William T. Kemper Foundation. A complete list of exhibit donors can be found on www.eisenhower.archives.gov.

Guests may also want to join in the Homes for the Holidays Tour, which features Eisenhower’s Boyhood Home as one of the stops this year. The tour includes several other historic homes and the Seelye Mansion–each delightfully decorated for the holidays. For tour tickets ($10) or more information, contact the Abilene Convention & Visitors Bureau at 785-263-2231 or 800-569-5915.
