UPDATE: Central releasing students as normal after alleged threat

“Central HS is ending Thursday, April 6 in heightened security and will release students as normal. As a precautionary measure increased security will continue during school release. Activities planned for after school hours will take place as scheduled. A normal school day is expected on Friday, April 7, 2017.”

Security has been heightened at Central High School after an alleged threat Thursday morning.

Salina Police Capt. Mike Sweeney said that a known suspect made an indirect threat, but would not release any more information as the case is still under investigation.

Central High School will remain on heightened security but authorities say classes will continue as usual inside the building. Capt. Sweeney said that all of USD 305 has been notified.
