History Making K-State Alum to Speak at KSU-Salina

SALINA — Bernard Franklin, a history-making Kansas State University alumnus, will give several presentations on the K-State Salina campus on Friday, Aug. 26, as part of Wildcat Welcome Week events.

Franklin was the first African-American president of the K-State Student Government Association. At the age of 24, he became the youngest person ever appointed to the Kansas State Board of Regents and four years later became the youngest Chair of the Board.

Franklin’ first presentation, “Being An Inclusive Community,” begins at 10:30 a.m. in the College Center Conference Room. It is free and open to the public.

His 2:30 p.m. presentation, “Imagineering Your Future,” is geared toward helping K-State Salina students get the most out of the upcoming year by helping them see their future.

The third presentation of the day, “Change or Die,” will help motivate faculty and staff as the university begins to implement Vision 2025. The presentation begins at 3:30 in the College Center Conference Room.
