Central Mall is proud to announce the winner of the “Fishin’ For A Name” contest. The contest to name Central Mall’s new 65 pound flathead catfish, took place at Central Mall’s Aquarium and on Central Mall’s Facebook page from July 25 through August 18.

Jon Schoel, a 19-year-old Salina, KS resident, won the name contest by submitting the name “Willie the Rivercat”, and receiving the most “Likes” on Facebook for his name.

Participants submitted their name suggestions near Central Mall’s Aquarium and these were then uploaded and added to an album on Central Mall’s Facebook page for fans to “Like”. The name with the most “Likes” on August 18 was declared the winner of a $50 Central Mall Gift Card. The winning name was announced at the Back To School Fashion Show on Saturday, August 20.
