Community Labor Rally Comes Back To Salina

“America and Salina Was Built By Labor” and is the theme of the Salina Community Labor Day Celebration on Saturday, September 3, 10:30 to noon at Campbell Plaza (Downtown Santa Fe).

Salina’s Labor Celebration features Chad Manspeaker. Manspeaker is a seventh generation 33 year-old family man and former congressional aid. Manspeaker is a dynamic rising force in Kansas labor and government. He is currently a Topeka City Councilman, and the Public Affairs Director for Laborers’ Local Union 1290.

Salina City Commissioner Aaron Householter will give a welcome. Joe Cassell, Salina, former teamster union member, will share brief Salina labor memoirs. Bob Storer will deliver a proclamation. Music by Mattson and Weaver and complimentary Coops pizza available afterwards.

Labor day honors all teachers, firefighters, police officers, postal workers, manufacturing, transportation, aviation, county, city, and state employees, construction, agriculture, communication, medical, hospitality, service employees, etc.
