Motorcyclist in critical condition Update

Captain Forrester has released the names of the people involved in the accident.  Rodney Larson, 50, of Salina, was the driver of the motorcycle. Joann Hamilton, 68, of Salina, was the driver of the Toyota Highlander.

Larson is still in critical condition. The accident is still under investigation and no citations have been given at this time.

 

A motorcycle driver is in critical condition after an injury accident on Sunday at Broadway and Republic.

According to Captain Forrester,  the accident took place on Sunday, February 25, at 5:20 p.m. The driver of a 2004 Toyota Highlander is a 68-year-old female, of Salina, was stopped at the intersection heading eastbound on Republic. The driver of a 2015 Honda motorcycle, a 50-year-old male, of Salina, was heading westbound on Republic.

The driver of the Highlander turned left onto Broadway and the driver of the motorcycle hit her vehicle. The driver on the motorcycle was ejected from the vehicle and is in critical condition. A helmet was not worn. The driver of the Highlander was not injured. The Highlander was heavily damaged and the motorcycle was totaled.

The accident is still under investigation.
