The Salina Liberty indoor football team is off to the the best start in franchise history and a big part of that is Derrick Bernard. On Thursday, Champions Indoor Football named Bernard the Offensive Player of the week after his performance in a victory over Omaha last Saturday, 69-43.

Bernard completed 13 of 17 pass attempts for 224 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Liberty signal caller also rushed 13 times for 80 yards and 3 more touchdowns. In his last three games, Bernard has completed 35 of 56 passes for a 63% completion rate, 14 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions. All three of those games were victories for the Liberty who are now 4-1.

Salina will be traveling to Bismarck to face the Bucks on Saturday, a crucial game for both teams in the CIF Northern Division. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 and you can hear the game on KINA 910 AM or 94.5 FM. The game will also be streamed online at Salina Post with pregame starting at 6:30 pm.
