Saturday evening at 4:47, deputies were called to the 12,000 block of W. Lockard Rd to investigate a vehicle fire. Sheriff Roger Soldan told The Salina Post that Jerry Watkins was spraying some weeds and when he moved his truck it backfired and caught on fire. The truck, a 1975 Chevy C10, and the estimated value is $500.

Watkins was not injured.
