LYON COUNTY — One person was injured in an accident just before 2a.m. Sunday in Lyon County.

The Lyon County Sheriff reported a 2006 Nissan Altima driven by Claire Brooks of Salina was northbound on Interstate 35 near Fremont Township. The vehicle left the road and struck a tree. Deputies were dispatched to the accident after a report of a woman walking southbound in the northbound lanes, according to the sheriff’s department.

Brooks was transported to the hospital in Emporia.
