Several gathered at the Sunset park War Memorial today to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our country. Mayor Karl Ryan expressed his thoughts about the meaning of Memorial Day and how it related to himself and those close to him.
The echoing sentiment was that the heroes that were remembered today are not exclusive to any gender, race, or religion. They held the common principle that America is a nation worth dying for.
The ceremony concluded with a gun salute, taps, a bagpipe, and an invitation to attend lunch at the VFW.
