Kenneth E Kahrs, 67, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 10:00 p.m., Sunday, May 27th, 2018 while in the company of family members, at McPherson Health And Rehab.
Kenneth was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska on March 10, 1951, a son of Betty June (Stevens) and Robert Otto Kahrs.
Kenny attended Phillipsburg Elementary School, Phillipsburg, Kansas, McPherson Senior High School and graduated in 1969. He then attended Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, Kansas.
He attended First Christian Church McPherson, Kansas.
Through the years Kenny worked for Shane Housing, Medora, Kansas, Kit Mfg., McPherson, Kansas and then worked as a Architectural Designer/Engineer for Timber Roof Construction, Valley Center, Kansas..
Kenny was a member of Sons of American Legion Post 68 and the Legion Riders of Hutchinson, Kansas Doof -Clem, Elite Rider Group and the Cloud Riders. Kenny enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, bowling, bow hunting, and riding his motorcycle.
Kenneth E. Kahrs was united in marriage to Kay Anne Busby in June 2007 in Arkansas. .
He is survived by his wife Kay Anne Busby, of McPherson, Kansas; his children, Chris Cole and his wife Rachel, of Enumclaw, Washington, Wayne Thompson and his wife Kris, of McPherson, Kansas and Janeine Muir and her husband Doug, of McPherson, Kansas; his brother Keith Kahrs and his wife Ann, of Hutchinson, Kansas. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Robie.
A memorial service will be held at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating.
The final resting place will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Mount Hope, Kansas.
