Kan. man, child hospitalized after car hydroplanes, hits tree

SALINE COUNTY — Two people were injured in an accident just before 11:30p.m. Tuesday in Saline County.

A 2005 Honda Accord driven by Dennis J. Markley, 41, Solomon, was eastbound on Old 40 highway at Donmyer Road.

The driver lost control and swerved into the left lane. The Honda hydroplaned, went left of center, crossed both lanes and hit a tree.

Markley and a passenger Josaphine D. Markley-Bragg, 8, were transported to Salina Regional Medical Center. Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
