Vehicle found, additional suspects ID’d in Tuesday shooting

The car involved in a late Tuesday afternoon shooting in northwest Salina has been found and two additional suspects have been identified, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.

The 2010 Mercury Milan was located in the 500 block of North 12th Street at approximately 1 p.m. Wednesday, he said.

The driver of the car and another person have been identified as suspects in the incident and have been interviewed, however, charges have yet to be filed, Forrester said.

A third suspect, Dakota Bunting, 19, Salina, was taken into custody at the scene of the incident Tuesday near the intersection of Broadway and State Street. Bunting has been charged with possession of opiates, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and not having a drug tax stamp, Forrester said.

“We do not believe anyone else was involved,” he added this morning.

Forrester said the investigation is continuing.
