NWS: Wildfire smoke could provide colorful sunsets, irritation

Smoke, from numerous fires burning across the Western United States and Canada, has been lofted higher up in the air and is being transported into the Great Plains, according to the National Weather Service office in Wichita.

This will lead to hazy skies and will make for a very colorful sunset this evening. Unfortunately, it may be just enough to cause some irritation for sensitive groups.

A developing storm system over Texas may help to push the smoke out of the region by early next week.
