MITCHELL COUNTY — Five people were injured in an accident just after 3:30p.m. Monday in Mitchell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Chevy Silverado driven by Kamdyn Blake Ryser, 16, Beloit, was northbound on U.S. 24. The driver attempted to turn west onto 8th Street. A southbound 1998 Ford Taurus driven by Candice Ann Marie Stanley, 27, Beloit, collided with the Silverado.

Ryser, Stanley and passengers in the Taurus Brock Eugene Shadduck, 33; Dawson Z. Stanley, 6, and Devon J. Ackerman, 7, were transported to Mitchell County Hospital.

Candice Stanley was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
