Another potentially dangerous fire situation exists over Central and most of South-Central Kansas Friday Afternoon as southerly winds increase once again to 30-40 mph and where gusts may reach 45 mph.

Fire Watches and or Red Flag Warnings may be required for these areas. Thunderstorms are still scheduled to arrive Western…Northern and part of Central Kansas Friday Afternoon & Night as a vicious cyclone sprints north from Eastern Wyoming to Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Gusts around 50 mph as well as some small hail are possible from this activity.

Today: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 7am and noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Windy, with a south wind 15 to 18 mph increasing to between 27 and 30 mph. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Breezy, with a south southeast wind between 22 and 26 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.
