The expanding drought has led the Governor’s office to update the state’s drought conditions.

The update includes moving 13 counties from warning status up to emergency status and adding six other counties to watch status.

The emergency status now includes Barton, Pawnee and Lane Counties. Osborne County has been moved into the drought watch category.
