Nina May Heitsman, 79, of Salina, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, at Salina Regional Health Center. She completed her life’s journey with her family by her side. Nina was born May 14, 1939 in Salina, to Richard and Nina Dearing.

Survivors include: her son, Richard Heitsman (Sandy) of Wichita, and her son, Johnny Heitsman (Chris) of Salina; three grandchildren, Ryan, Kristin and Brett Heitsman; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Richard; her brother, Leroy; and her mom, Nina Dearing.

It was Nina’s wishes to be cremated. There will be visitation from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. The family welcomes anyone that knew Nina to come share some stories.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: the Saline County Animal Shelter, or Smoky Hill Rehabilitation Center, in care of Ryan Mortuary.
