The Salina Symphony season opens with Boston Brass on October 7, at 4 p.m. when the Boston Brass joins the Symphony on the Stiefel Theatre stage.

For more than 30 years, Boston Brass has set out to provide a one-of-a-kind musical experience. From exciting classical arrangements to burning jazz standards and the best of the original brass quintet repertoire, Boston Brass treats audiences to a unique brand of entertainment. The ensemble’s lively banter, touched with humor and personality, attempts to bridge the ocean of classical formality to delight audiences in an evening of great music and boisterous fun.

The Symphony will also perform The Firebird Suite by Stravinsky, featuring glittering orchestral colors and vibrant Russian folk flavor.

In addition to Sunday’s performance with the Salina Symphony, Boston Brass will perform a stand-alone concert on October 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium on the campus of McPherson College. The Saturday performance is free and open to the public.
