Sheriff’s Office looking into burglaries

Two rural residential burglaries Friday resulted in the total loss of more than $6,000.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said Monday that deputies first were called to the 3600 block of South Ohio after the homeowner reported that sometime between 8 a.m. and approximately 1 p.m. Friday, someone kicked in the front door of the residence and took a number of items including the following.

  • an Apple laptop
  • an iPad
  • a bag of hand tools
  • a Monster Rockin’ Roller Bluetooth speaker
  • another Bluetooth speaker
  • some 9mm ammunition
  • an iPhone watch
  • a Garman GPS watch
  • 32-inch and 50-inch Samsung televisions
  • two Spider bowling balls
  • a Brunswick bowling bag
  • a pair of bowling shoes

Soldan said that the total loss, including damage to the door, was estimated at $3,290.

In the second incident, deputies were called to the 2300 block of North Hedville Road where the owner reported that sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Friday, someone kicked in a door and took a number of items, including the following.

  • a Stihl chainsaw
  • a Stihl hedge trimmer
  • a 46-inch Samsung television
  • a Winchester single shot 410 gun
  • a Seiko watch
  • a space heater
  • a Bose sound bar
  • 10 DVDs
  • a Porter-Cable drill driver
  • a bag of miscellaneous hand tools

Soldan said that the total loss, including damage to the door, was estimated at $3,270.

He said there are no suspects in either case at this time.
