$1,000 bicycle with $1,000 of accessories stolen

Another high-end bicycle has been reported stolen in Salina.

Salina Police Sergeant David Villanueva said Monday that sometime between 4 p.m. on August 9 and 8 p.m. on August 10, someone stole a 21-inch men’s Gary Fisher Cobia bicycle from the front porch of a house in the 100 block of South Columbia. He said the bicycle was a silver mountain bike valued at $1,000. The bicycle also had $1,000 worth of accessories, he added.

Villanueva said the theft report was delayed because it took some time for the owner to retrieve the bicycle’s identification number.

In August, two other high-end bicycles were reported stolen.

Sometime on August 21 or 22, two Discovery Channel Trek bicycles were stolen from a vehicle that was parked at a north Salina motel. The loss of the bikes was placed at $8,000, according to Salina Police Sergeant Jim Feldman.

Villanueva said the Salina Police Department would appreciate any tips the public could provide concerning the stolen bicycles.
