
The Trojans led 6-0 after the two teams had a possession. Then, the Trojans would yank the “WELCOME” rug posting 22 points in the second quarter and coasting to a 28-0 halftime lead. Southeast would add one more score in the third quarter then set the cruise control on their way to a 35-0 final in the opening round of Class 2A District play.
Sophomore running back Bryant Banks rushed for 75 yards and three first half touchdowns. Senior Nick Montgomery led the passing attack with 7 catches for 64 yards and a touchdown. Montgomery also had two interceptions on defense for the Trojans.
This game, however, was won up front with the Trojan defense who held the Bears to just 12 yards of total offense and forced 5 turnovers.
The 35-0 win moves Southeast of Saline to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in district play. The Trojans will travel to Rossville next Friday.
