
Through the first five games, SES has outscored their opponents, 50-10 in the second period. Tonight, after trailing 7-8 after the first quarter, the Trojans used a 14-0 second quarter run to take a 21-8 lead into halftime.
After trading touchdowns in the third quarter, Mission Valley would score their last touchdown with 11:06 left in the fourth, cutting the Southeast of Saline lead to 27-20. From there, the Trojans went on a 21-0 run to capture a 48-20 victory.
Sophomore quarterback Jaxson Gebhardt led the offense completing 21 of 25 passes to six different receivers. Gebhardt finished with 202 yards in the air and 2 touchdowns but also had 182 yards rushing and two more scores.
The Trojan defense was stout again, forcing Mission Valley into four turnovers including two interceptions by senior Nick Montgomery and a interception return for a touchdown by sophomore Eli Harris.
Southeast of Saline improves to 5-1 on the season and will travel to Riley County (5-1) next Friday night.
