
Experience an afternoon of music by the great Leonard Bernstein at 4 p.m. on November 4 at the Stiefel Theatre as the Salina Symphony celebrates the centennial of the legendary conductor, composer, pianist, educator and personality whose talent changed the course of American music.
The program will showcase a suite from Westside Story, selections from Candide and many more Bernstein favorites. The Symphony will be joined by guest artists Maggie Spicer and Bob Wearing as well as the Kansas Wesleyan University Chorale.
A Salina native, Spicer has performed on stages across North America and choreographed shows across the Midwest. Regional performance credits include Mamma Mia (Lisa) and Jekyll & Hyde at Casa MaƱana, Freaky Friday (Torrey), Mamma Mia (Ali), Hello, Dolly!, Les Miserables and A Little Night Music (Anne Egerman) with Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma and Shrek (Sugar Plum Fairy/Gingy) at Great Plains Theatre. Spicer also completed the North American tour of The Wizard of Oz (Ensemble, Glinda U/S).
Also a Salina native, Wearing has appeared in productions of Fiddler on the Roof, A Little Night Music, Big River, Urinetown, and more at various theatre companies in Kansas City.

Tickets may be purchased at the Stiefel Theatre Box Office, by calling 785-827-1998, or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Single admission is $29 or $39 and $20 for students. Children ages five and older are welcome to attend. All admissions require purchase of a ticket.
