ABILENE — Hospice of Dickinson County staff and the Hospice Advisory Board will honor their volunteers and supporters during the Annual Volunteer Banquet.

The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. November 6 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1400 N. Cedar, Abilene. The theme of this year’s banquet is Volunteers Are Stars in Our Eyes.

All Hospice volunteers, supporters of Dickinson County Hospice, and End of the Trail Quilters Guild members are invited. Guests are welcome to attend.

Guest meals are $12 each and are payable at the door. The meal will be provided by Mr. K’s Farmhouse. Reservations are requested by November 1, and can be called to 785-263-6630.

Bill Peterson will be the speaker for the banquet. His topic will be “Whoever Said ‘Laughter is the Best Medicine’ was so Right!” The event will celebrate the gift of humor, laughter, and play. The goal will be to leave the evening happy and joy filled.

Volunteers will be honored in a short program by years of service along with the End of the Trail Quilters Guild members who donated quilts.
