The Salvation Army in Salina has announced its bell ringer locations for the 2019 Red Kettle Campaign. The organization also is looking for volunteers to help with the campaign.
According to Captain Lynn Lopez, this year’s goal for the local Red Kettle Campaign is $98,000. The funds will be used to serve Saline County programs for those in need.
Lopez indicated that this year, persons who want to volunteer as bell ringers may do so online. Bell ringing is scheduled to begin on November 17 and continue through December 24. According to Lopez, ringers are needed Monday through Saturday during that time period, except for Thanksgiving, when the Salvation Army will be serving its annual Thanksgiving meal at Applebee’s.
“This is a wonderful way for schools, church groups, service organizations, individuals and families to sign up together to share the love this Christmas season. Teaching our children a heart for serving others is essential and this is one way to be able to do that,” Lopez noted.
