Between 2 p.m. September 28 and 5:45 a.m. September 29, unknown suspect(s) attempted to steal a Lincoln welder that was attached to the back of a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck parked at Smoky Hill Feeders, 11513 S. Soderberg Road, in rural southwest Saline County.

After unsuccessfully attempting to remove the welder, the suspect(s) tried to steal the truck. Significant damage was caused to the ignition, steering column, the truck bed, and welder.

Total damage is estimated to be in excess of $1,500.
