Messy weather causing travel issues

If you have to travel today, be careful on the highways. Multiple slide-offs have already been reported.

Here’s the weekend forecast from the National Weather Service in Wichita:

Today
Rain and snow likely before noon, then a chance of rain. Patchy fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 39. West northwest wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight
A chance of rain and snow before 1 a.m., then a chance of snow. Patchy fog between 8-9 p.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 32. West northwest wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Sunday
A chance of rain and snow before 2 p.m., then a chance of rain between 2-3 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow after 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Northwest wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday Night
A 30-percent chance of snow, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 25. North northwest wind around 11 mph.
