Hillsboro – Betty Meier, 96, passed away January 4, 2019 at Asbury Park in Newton.  She was born March 22, 1922 in McPherson to Ed and Leah (Geis) Geis.  

She married Bill Meier March 25, 1944 rural Durham.  

Survivors include: daughters, Julianne Arguello of Costa Rica, Willabeth Gonzalez of Newton; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  

Predeceased by: brother, Quentin Geis; sisters, Eunice Klein and Lois Whitney; husband, Bill Meier in 2009.  

Celebration of Life Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Durham.  Interment 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Haven of Rest cemetery rural Hillsboro.  Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Memorials to King Daughters of Durham Baptist Church or Gideon’s in care of Jost Funeral Home P.O.
