Storyteller and puppeteer Priscilla Howe will help Salina school children explore creative self-expression thanks to Salina Arts & Humanities (SAH).

Howe’s residency is made possible through SAH’s Arts Infusion program. On Monday and Tuesday, she is scheduled to work with students, primarily in grades K-5. A returning resident artist, Howe offers a highly dynamic program with curricular connections in language arts that allow students to explore creative self-expression.

Her residency also includes a community performance of “Tristan & Iseult” at Ad Astra Books & Coffee House, 141 N. Santa Fe, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The performance is open to the public at no charge. “Tristan & Iseult” is an epic tale of good luck, bad choices, giants, dragons, fools, betrayal, and, of course, romance. This story is best suited for adults and children ages nine and up.

Howe has traveled the world, captivating audiences of all ages. A resident of Lawrence, Kansas, Howe has been telling stories in Salina for more than 20 years as a visiting teaching artist and a performer at the Smoky Hill River Festival.
