Salina police are investigating the theft of a car from the 100 block of North Phillips early Friday afternoon.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Tuesday that Jennifer Weis, 30, of Salina, reported that she had left a silver 2003 Ford Focus running in the driveway while she went into the house to get something. She told police that she had only been in the house for approximately 30 seconds, he said. When she went back outside, the car was gone, as was Weis’ purse that was in the car, Forrester said.

The car had a 60-day temporary tag, Forrester said. Total loss was estimated at $1,200, he said.
