Donald Dean Loe

Donald Dean Loe, 86 of Hope passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at Legacy of Herington. He was born May 9, 1932 in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of John F. and Mary E. (Osborn) Loe.

He served in the United States Army and met the love of his live and married Joyce Joan Schlesener on May 6, 1956.

He was farmer/stockman and lived on a farm near Hope all of his life after marriage. He was also employed by Tip-Top Dairies in Hillsboro, State of Kansas High Way Department, Riddle Quarries, and J.B. Erhsam Co. in Enterprise.

He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, American Legion and Lions Club.

A kind and friendly man, loving father and grandfather he is survived by his loving wife Joyce of 62 years. Two daughters: Dawn and husband Rodney Wilson of Hope, Kansas and Jo Dee and husband Kevin Noller of Glen Elder, Kansas. Four grandchildren: Jessica Wilson of Wichita; Jennifer Wilson of Stockton, Kansas; Dylan Noller and Amanda Noller of Glen Elder, Kansas.

Donald’s body was donated to Science per his wishes. A Celebration of Life will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, January 25 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Herington. The family suggests memorials be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Herington or to the Navarre Lion’s Club. Memorials may be mailed to Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 355, Hope, Kansas 67451.
