Mary Jo Dean, 93, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019. Jo was born in El Dorado, Dec. 30,1925 to Elmer and Marie Staley.

Jo was a graduate of Kansas State and Washburn Universities. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, Staccato Notes Federated Music Club and the University United Methodist Church of Salina. Mary was a teacher for many years in the Topeka and Salina school systems.

Survivors include: nephews, Dexter and Greg Benson, both of Virginia. Jo was preceded in death by: her husband, Jack (2004); and a sister, Jacqueline Benson.

There will be no visitation or services. Memorials may be made to the University United Methodist Church, Salina, or the Salina Animal Shelter, in care of Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
