Harold L. Poirier

Harold L. Poirier, 86, passed away Friday, January 25th, in Abilene. He was born August 10, 1932 in Spring Brook Wisconsin, the son of Albert and Minnie (Brainard) Poirier.

Growing up in the area, Harold attended local schools.

On October 13, 1951 he married Rosemary Wooley in Pine City, Minnesota. Most of their married life was spent in Colorado before moving to Kansas.

Harold had been self employed as a carpenter, antique dealer and refinished antiques.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Randy and Rodney.

Harold is survived by: wife, Rosemary Poirier of Abilene; two sons, Steven A. Poirier of Delta, Colorado, Harold D. Poirier of Pueblo, Colorado; daughter, Cindy Poirier of Abilene; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Poirier of Chetek, Wisconsin; two sisters, Adeline Poirier of Chetek, Wisconsin and Rose Coleman of Baron, Wisconsin.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 29th at the Summit/Highland Cemetery near Concordia with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to the Elsie Brooks Cancer Fund. They may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.
