The Salina Community Area MobilePack for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) met its goal.
Nearly 1,100 volunteers filled five shifts on January 20-21 to pack 225,504 meals. According to organizer Linda Ourada, those are enough meals to feed 618 children for one year.
The event took place at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Ourada thanked the church for hosting the event. She also thanked the volunteers, including the 24 local FMSC team members.
“Our MobilePack was a huge success because the Holy Spirit was guiding my team and me each step of the way,” Ourada said. “The community people showed up to donate and pack so I am proud to live in an area where people will help feed children around the world. God bless each one of them.”
