Police: BB guns being fired at vehicles, houses, people

Salina police are investigating a series of incidents in which BB guns were fired at vehicles, houses, and even people.

Salina Police Detective Sergeant David Villanueva said Monday that at least 12 incidents occurred between Friday and Sunday throughout Salina. At least four people were shot and received minor injuries, he said. One person knew the person shooting, resulting in the arrest of a juvenile male, Villanueva said.

Other people are believed to be involved in the incidents, and the investigation is continuing, Villanueva said. In several instances, witnesses were able to give vehicle descriptions to police, he added.

So far, a total of $5,200 in damage has been reported, Villanueva said.

100 block of North Santa Fe
700 block of North Ninth
500 block of South 11th
700 block of Fairdale
1200 block of East Cloud
100 block of West Iron
400 block of South 11th
400 block of South 12th
