Two teens were slightly injured in a single-vehicle accident Friday morning in Jerry Ivey Park in south Salina.
A 2003 Ford Explorer driven by Carson Burr, 18, of Salina, was northbound in the park shortly before 7:30 a.m. when it hit the curb twice, rolled, hit a tree, and came to rest on its wheels, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Monday. Two 17-year-old males and a 15-year-old female were passengers in the Explorer, Forrester said.
Burr and the front passenger both had minor cuts, Forrester said. All four of the occupants were wearing seatbelts, he added.
The Explorer had extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene Forrester said.
Burr was cited for reckless driving, Forrester said. He added that speed may have played a factor.
