Whether you’re in heavy equipment sales and service, looking to hire service technicians, or just like looking at big machines, Salina Area Technical College’s first Diesel Day will have something for everyone.
The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 1 on the Salina Tech campus and is open to the public at no charge.
Salina Tech Diesel instructor Mac Loucks, who is organizing the event, said Diesel Day will include booths or equipment displays from many of the major trucking, ag equipment and construction companies across the state, plus several tool vendors and food trucks.
“We have several different goals in mind with this,” Loucks said. “It’s a way for companies to promote their products and services, and network with related businesses. Plus, these companies are always looking for new employees, so if you’re looking for a new job, Diesel Day is a good place to start.”
The event will also be an opportunity for people to learn more about the college and its Diesel Technology program.
And if you just want a chance to see big equipment up close, Loucks said a few of the companies plan to bring the largest machines they have available that week.
Among the companies represented are Komatsu, Yale, Bobcat, John Deere, New Holland, Freightliner, Caterpillar, Ryder, B&B Hydraulic, Matco, Cornwell and Snap-On.
