Proclamation, fireworks on county agenda

A proclamation and a fireworks display request are among the items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.

Commissioners are being asked to consider proclaiming May as Mental Health Month. Cody Sparks, clinical director at the Central Kansas Mental Health Center, is scheduled to present the proclamation request.

Jim DuBois, county treasurer, is scheduled to present an idle funds report.

Additionally, commissioners are scheduled to consider a request for a private fireworks display at Webster Conference Center. Bernie Botson, interim emergency management director, is scheduled to present the request.

An update from County Engineer Justin Mader also is on the agenda.

Immediately following the meeting, the commissioners are scheduled to meet in a study session in room 217 of the City-County Building. The agenda for that meeting is as follows.
