Ernest Wayne Baugh

Ernest Wayne Baugh, 94, went to Heaven January 28, 2019, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was blessed to be able to stay in his home until a month-long illness.

He was born July 13, 1924, in Texhoma, Texas to Ernest Grant and Pearl May (Cherry) Baugh. The Baugh family moved to Bennington, Kansas, during the Dustbowl era.

Wayne was proud to be a World War II Army Veteran. He owned a radiator repair business in Salina, Kansas, after the war. He was hired by Civil Service to work on Missile sites. He transferred to Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado to do maintenance on Army combat equipment and was promoted to supervisor and retired in 1989.

He is survived by his sons, Gary (Jayne) Baugh of Johnstown, CO. and Marvin Dean (Janie) Baugh of Fremont, NE.; daughters, Sonya (Steven) Spencer of Palmer Lake, CO. and Lesa (Thomas) Dill of Falcon, CO.; eight grandchildren: Chelsee Jensen, Zachary Baugh, Myia Swoboda, Mitchell Baugh, Ryan Spencer, Tonya Rackers, Justin Jones, and Andrew Jones; ten great-grandchildren and nephews.

Wayne was predeceased by his wife, Velda, after 69 years of marriage; his parents: Ernest and Pearl Baugh, brothers: Walter, Harold, Edgar, and Max and his sister, Arlone.

Wayne put his faith in Jesus Christ as an adult. He heard God’s voice speak to him on more than one occasion to save his life. He was anxious to go to Heaven and be with his Lord.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. We love you and will see you in Heaven.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 25 at the Bennington Bible Church.  The burial service will follow at Bennington Cemetery. Afterwards, a reception will follow at Bennington Bible Church.
