South water treatment plant agreement, proclamations on city agenda

Two proclamation requests, a potential agreement with the county, and two executive sessions are among the items on the Salina City Commission agenda for Monday.

Commissioners are scheduled to begin with a study session at 2:30 p.m. in room 107B of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash. The topic of the study session is continuous process improvement process overview. A time for public comment concerning the study session is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.

The regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in room 107 of the City-County Building. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the agenda.

The two proclamation requests are as follows.

  • Proclaim May 18, 2019, as Kids to Parks Day in the City of Salina. Sam Stone, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board youth member is schduled to read the proclamation.
  • Proclaim May 15, 2019, as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day and the week of May 12-18, 2019 as Police Week in the City of Salina. Salina Police Chief Brad Nelson is scheduled to read the proclamation.

Commissioners also are scheduled to consider a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement with Saline County addressing matters relating to the construction of the south water treatment plant.

The two executive sessions on the city meeting agenda include the following.

  • To discuss the subject of specific economic development prospects based upon the need to discuss data relating to financial affairs or trade secrets of corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individual proprietorships pursuant to K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(4).
  • To discuss the subject of specific economic development prospects based upon the need to discuss data relating to financial affairs or trade secrets of corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individual proprietorships pursuant to K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(4).
