NWS: Flood warnings, flash flood watches issued

While we’re supposed to have a lovely spring day Sunday (sunny with a high near 70 and a slight breeze from the north-northwest), be prepared for more rain on Monday, Monday night, and Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service, very heavy rainfall is expected Monday afternoon through midday on Tuesday across central and eastern Kansas. Rainfall in excess of three inches is possible with locally higher amounts. This will result in significant rises on area rivers and creeks with some exceeding flood stage. Locally intense rainfall could also result in flash flooding of urban and rural areas.
