Salina Police seek public’s assistance to locate man who fired shot in local bar

Salina Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who fired a shot inside a local drinking establishment early Friday.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Friday that officers were called to Big Nose Kate’s, 121 N. Santa Fe, at 1:45 a.m. Friday for the report of a shot fired.

Video shows two subjects in a physical altercation, he said. One of the subjects, described as a large, bald, white male with facial hair who was wearing a blue shirt and jeans, pulled out a handgun and fired one shot, Forrester said. The shot ricocheted off the floor and went into a wall, he said.

Forrester said it doesn’t appear that anyone was injured by the shot.

Persons with information about the case are encouraged to call the Salina Police Department, he said.
