Nancy was born in Lacrosse, Wisconsin on April 8, 1949, a daughter of Esther Marion (Waite) and Edward Gerald Fogarty, Sr.
Nancy attended St. Anthony’s grade school and graduated from Bishop Ward High School, Kansas City, Kansas in 1967. Later in life she attended the Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, Kansas where she received her CMA.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church McPherson, KS where she was a member of the Altar Society.
Nancy was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She also worked as a CMA for Cedars Health Care Center and Heartland Haven.
Nancy was a member of (Sorority Sisters). Nancy enjoyed her grand kids, was an excellent cook and baker. She loved to have all her grand kids help in the kitchen and teaching them her secrets.
Nancy Jeane Fogarty was united in marriage to Lonnie Dale Schroeder on January 31, 1970 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Kansas City, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Millington, Tennessee. The couple then moved to Lexington Park, Maryland for a couple years before moving to Manhattan, Kansas for three years before moving to McPherson, Kansas in January of 1976.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Lonnie Schroeder, of McPherson, Kansas; her children, Neil Schroeder and wife Emelie, of McPherson, Kansas, Courtney Schroeder, of Kansas City, Kansas, Ericka Schroeder, of McPherson, Kansas, Grant Schroeder, of Barnard, Kansas, Troy Schroeder and wife Leah, of Canton, Kansas, Noah Schroeder, of McPherson, Kansas and Lorra Martens and husband Jim of Inman, Kansas; her siblings, Marie Hamil, of Shawnee, Kansas, Edward Fogarty, Jr. and wife Kathleen, of Olathe, Kansas, Angela Blazevic and husband Ronald, of Kansas City, Kansas, William Fogarty and wife Peggy, of Leavenworth, Kansas, Peter Fogarty and wife Victoria, of Marceline, Missouri, Cecilia Fogarty, of Virginia, Mabel Cubbage, of Oskaloosa, Kansas and Michael Fogarty, of Kansas City, Kansas; her 8 grandchildren, Paige Jackson and husband Jeremiah, Simon Cheatham, Savannah Schroeder, Madelyn Schroeder, Hunter, Schroeder, Kloey Schroeder, Jace Schroeder and Alex Schroeder; 1 great-grandson on the way, due in August!; many neices and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.
Rosary will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, McPherson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29th, 2019 with Fr. Ben Shockey officiating.
Graveside services will be at a later date at the Beverly Cemetery, Beverly, Kansas.
