Merle M. Buckbee

Merle M. Buckbee, 98, Tescott, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 17, 2019.  He was born February 12, 1921 near Chase to Robert Milton and Amy (Fuson) Buckbee.

Merle served three years in the United States Army from August of 1942-1945.  When he returned from the service, he married Ann Eva Bane from Lyons.

He retired from Northern Natural Gas in 1984 with 34 years of service.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Waggoner.

Survivors are his wife of 73 years, Ann Buckbee of the home; son, Dennis Buckbee and wife Virginia of Minooka, IL and daughter, Althea Clinton and husband Orville of Claremore, OK; sister, Fern Manwarren of Hutchinson; four granddaughters, Tracy Engle and husband, Mike, Darci Artz and husband, Jeremy, Amy Buckbee, and Jessica Buckbee; and three great-grandchildren, Trey and Taylor Engle, and Jebediah Artz.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 22 at the Tescott United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery, Tescott.  Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.  Memorials may be made to the Tescott United Methodist Church.
