A Salina man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault/domestic battery and multiple drug-related counts after an alleged incident Monday afternoon in east Salina.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Tuesday that officers were called to the 2200 block of Applewood Lane at 1:30 p.m. Monday for the report of an aggravated assault.
A 20-year-old male who lives at a residence there reported to police that he was in the basement of the residence when his mother’s boyfriend, Nakhaly Chindavong, 38, of Salina, came downstairs, threw an Xbox against the wall and then tried to get him to fight, Forrester said. The two wrestled and Chindavong ended up with two cuts on his arm, Forrester added.
The victim reported that Chindavong left the basement but returned about 45 minutes later and tried to start another fight, Forrester said. Chindavong then allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim, who then ran away and called police, Forrester said. Chindavong also left the residence, Forrester added.
Officers located a 9 mm handgun and some drug paraphernalia at the residence, Forrester said.
Chindavong was located a short time later walking in the 700 block of Fairdale Road. When Chindavong was taken into custody, he was found to be in possession of THC wax, Forrester said.
After a search warrant was obtained, officers searched a shed behind the residence and found numerous prescription pills, some suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, marijuana solution, and THC wax, Forrester said.

- Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
- Felony possession of drug paraphernalia
- Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
