A Salina man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly punched a self-checkout register at a local grocery store.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Tuesday that at approximately 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Brian Bowman, 53, was using a self-checkout register at Dillons, 1235 E. Cloud, when he allegedly became frustrated and punched the Toshiba register, causing $1,100 in damage.

Bowman was arrested on suspicion of felony damage to property, Forrester said.
